Red wine represents about 70% of the whole production of wine in Piedmont.

Piedmont produces very renowned red wines, for example Barbera, Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto, and nowadays almost all the wines produced in thi region are appreciated all over the world!

A large part of Piedmont red wine is grown in Monferrato. This territory is further divided in three zones: “Basso Monferrato Astigiano”, “Basso Monferrato Casalese” and “Alto Monferrato”. We may point out other areas of interest for wine production, like “Langhe” area and “Colli Tortonesi” (near Lombardy border).
